Yesterday was Friday the 13th and a full moon. Kinda weird, huh? Turns out that won’t happen again until the year 2049, which is pretty wacky especially when you start to think about how scientists can even figure that type of thing out. It makes my brain hurt a little.

On this rarest of rare days, we made a trip to Cedar Point, which is one of the best perks of living in Ohio – close proximity to the best amusement park in the world.

I’ve decided it’s impossible to eat healthy at an amusement park. If you follow me on Instagram, you got a little behind the scenes of our gluttony including Pink’s hotdogs, Chickie’s and Pete’s crab fries, cheesesteaks, elephant ears and Toft’s ice cream.
I have zero self control when we are at the park. Zee. Row.

Which is why I have smoothies and salads on the agenda for today. A much needed detox day following a day of complete and utter over indulgence.
Today’s smoothie for Smoothie Saturday is full of amazing sweetness from blueberries, strawberries and fresh oranges. The coconut water is fantastically hydrating and I added some oats and spinach for extra oomph and staying power. This berries and oats smoothie is a favorite in our house, especially for breakfast! My kiddos call it their ‘ultimate breakfast smoothie’ which I have to agree with. A smoothie with oats is a great way to get your oatmeal in the summer time – nice and refreshing!
