Hello, Cocktail Friday! How I’ve missed you.

Back in April, I shared a bit about my amazing trip to Columbus with the Ohio Poultry Association. While I was there, eating more eggs than I could shake a stick at, I got to spend some time a few of my favorite blogger friends, including Melanie from Melanie Makes and Courtney from Neighbor Food. Those girls are the best!

While wandering around Columbus, we had some pretty amazing meals, not to mention cocktails. At G. Michael’s Bistro I ordered a fabulous cocktail called the Stockyard Pony. It was bourbon based, which is not my typical order. I’m pretty sure the flaming orange peel garnish is what won me over.

Fruit on fire? Who wouldn’t want to witness that? Well, I was slightly disappointed when I didn’t get to actually see the peel on fire, but never-the-less, the drink was rockin’.

Well, I have had this cocktail on my agenda for the last two months, and have finally gotten around to trying it out. It’s a simple cocktail, but full of fruity notes as well as some bitters. Today, I’m sharing my Cocktail Friday recipe for this lovely Stockyard Pony over on Neighbor Food. Courtney is away on vacation for the week, so I am gladly filling for the day.

Head on over to Neighbor Food for the full Stockyard Pony cocktail recipe and stop back here tomorrow for my brand new Saturday Smoothie.

Hint: It’s berry-licious 🙂
