Life Behind The Scenes // Week 1
Hello my sweet friends! I’ve been busy working on some projects behind the scenes, and while they are not projects that will be housed here on Jelly Toast, there are a few stories and recipes (scroll down so you don’t miss them!) that I think you’ll be into.
So, today we’re checking out Life Behind The Scenes Week 1 (random tidbits and recipes).
I have been super into sketching lately; tapping back into my art roots and it feels amazing. I forgot how great it feels to draw something by hand or paint something on an actual piece of paper.
I also missed having a ponytail for the last 6 years. I have painstakingly grown out a pixie cut (hardest thing ever, guys) over the last year. It’s still short but we’re making serious progress.
Is there anything you’ve been missing lately?
As usual, I’m binging podcasts and Netflix shows like it’s my job. My native state is walking around cooking, or sitting at my computer typing and editing photos with my headphones.
My current favorite podcasts are:
- My Favorite Murder
- Spontaneanation with Paul F. Tompkins
- Reply All
- How Did This Get Made
There are more, but those are the ones that get me excited when a new episode pops up in my feed.
My current Netflix binges have been:
- Parks and Rec
- Sherlock (SO OBSESSED WITH THIS ONE!!)
- Master of None
- Friends (because always)
I’ve been playing with fruit lately and taking some simple photos. This falls into my sketching renaissance. Taking photos just to take them. I need to take more photos just for fun.
I also need to take more photos of my kids because currently C is missing her two front teeth and it’s the cutest most adorable phase in childhood and I want to remember her toothless grin for years to come.
On to the recipes!
I’ve been doing some work for the site Hello Glow which is a gorgeous site full of DIY beauty, home, food, and other natural goodies. Definitely check it out. Here are some recent recipes (with links to the full recipes) I’ve created and photographed for them.
Thai Style Spiralized Veggies with Tofu
I created the Ultimate Guide to Cutting Vegetables
Mug cakes are great, but have you ever tried Single-Serve Baked Coconut Oatmeal? It’s ready in 2 minutes!
How about some Crispy Asparagus Fries with Lemon-Dill Dipping Sauce?
Have you ever made muffins in the blender? These Parsnip Morning Glory Muffins are Gluten Free and super moist!
This is the dip you need for your next cookout: Roasted Garlic + White Bean Dip! (It’s so easy, it’s almost embarrassing to share)
Go meatless with my Spring Vegetable Quesadillas. My kids loved these plus they are totally adaptable based on the veggies you have in your fridge.
Happy Tuesday!
xoxo Emily
