mad men cocktails

I’m not sure if you’re aware, but there is a little season premier on tonight, and I might be just a little excited about it. Just maybe.

I figured in celebration of Mad Men starting tonight, I would gather a few of my favorite cocktails to share with you. That way you have some options of what to pour tonight. It is a two hour premier, after all.

I often wonder how Ad execs in the 60’s were able to be productive despite the sheer volume of alcohol that they consumed before 11:00 am.  However they did it, it makes for some pretty entertaining television.

At the end of this post, you will find visual evidence of just how ‘big’ of a fan I am of Mad Men. Consider yourself warned.

Now, on to the cocktails!

The Salty Dog

Dark and Minty

Key Lime Kiss Martini

Love Potion

The Vesper

Here are some more very Mad Men-ish cocktails from around the web:

23 Skiddoo from V.K. Rees Photography
Blood Orange Martini from A Healthy Life For Me
Classic Manhattan from She Knows
St. Dill Martini from Saveur
Whiskey Sour from My Recipes
The Corduroy Jacket from Southern Living
The Derby Cocktail from Leite’s Culinaria

Plus, there is an entire Mad Men Cocktail Guide on amctv.com and I have dedicated an entire board on Pinterest to beautiful cocktails.

And for those of you who made it to the end of my crazy cocktail collection, here is a little something to frighten entertain you for the day. This is yours truly dressed as one of my fave characters for Halloween. Don’t get excited, I start miles below the surface. It was most definitely the one and only time I wore a bra that could double as a winter hat.

Good times.

And now I have to ask: who are you dying to see tonight and what will you be drinking?

Happy Weekend!!

  1. I don’t watch Mad Men (we don’t have cable) and today is National Beer Day, so I won’t be drinking any of these phenomenal-looking cocktails. I am salivating, nonetheless. Cheers!

    • Thanks, Krista! National Beer Day is totally worth celebrating 🙂 I’m sorry I didn’t get to see you and Joe the other day, but I hope he had a great birthday!!

  2. I seriously adore you and all of your fancy cocktails. That costume is hilarious Em! I’ll bet ‘hubby’ loved that one.
