I Made a Vlog {Video}

in the studio

Hey there, my friends! This month, Jelly Toast turned 4 years old. My blog is officially a preschooler. I love that blogging has taught me to explore new foods and cooking techniques as well as pushed me to hone my photography and video skills. While food is and always will be the backbone of Jelly Toast, the process of creating the food photography and videos has become such a passion of mine. One that I want to continue to explore and share more with you.

Much of this summer has been spent thinking about new projects and adventures to play around with. After much hemming and hawing over whether or not I should go outside of my comfort zone a bit with my videos, I had the perfect opportunity this past week to make a fun little follow-me-around type food photography prop shopping video.  With Fall around the corner it seemed like the perfect time to go on the search for a few new food photography props to breath a little life into my upcoming photos. I was headed to HomeGoods to do a bit of shopping and decided it would be fun if you came along, too.

So I made a vlog!

Enjoy!

  1. You are SO cute and I love seeing you in video! Such a great job editing it — it was so fun to watch.

    I LOVE that rug you got! And those copper measuring cups — DEAD.

    • Thank you so much, Kristan! That means a lot to me <3 xoxo I am in love with my copper finds and honestly was SHOCKED when I saw that they were only $12.99 for that set of measuring cups. I swear my faux copper salt and pepper shakers were $20. That stuff is always pricy!

  2. I loved this!! Especially the copper measuring cups and spoons. What a deal!
    So fun…thanks for taking us along! Now I want to go shopping!

    • Thanks, Kristen! I am a sucker for copper finds <3 I'm so glad you liked this video - I'm planning some more, it was a lot of fun! xoxo

  3. LOVE THIS! You are so cute on video! I’d love to meet up and go prop shopping some time. I forget we are so close!

    • Thanks so much, Jamielyn! This is definitely a new style of video for me, but was such a blast to make. I would LOVE to go prop shopping together! Now that the kiddos are back in school, my schedule is settling back into a ‘normal’ routine <3 I have been obsessed with following your fixer upper and am so excited to see how it turns out! xoxo

  4. LOVE this Emily!!!  Wish I could throw myself into video like this.
