Phoenix part 2: a farm to table lunch

Between week long trips as well as weekend trips, it seems as if we’ve been packing and unpacking suitcases since the beginning of June. A few weeks ago, I shared a bit about our trip to Phoenix, but I have a little bit more to share! Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (1 of 135)One of the most memorable experiences while in Phoenix was attending a Farm to Table lunch, right at the resort we where were staying. It started off with a tour of the resort’s herb and vegetable garden (fancy!) and ended with a rustic and satisfying meal made with produce and herbs directly from the garden. Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (15 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (13 of 135)Our guide, Melissa, was incredibly knowledgable about the climate and needs of the various plants. I was too busy taking pictures to absorb as much as I would have liked – eek. I need to pay better attention next time. Because I totally want there to be a next time. This was a fantastic afternoon. Hot, but fantastic.Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (31 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (18 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (38 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (43 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (50 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (70 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (57 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (36 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (46 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (132 of 135)And then the lunch! First of all, the restaurant where we dined was gorgeous! Full of rustic wooden tables, hand painted tables and lovely glassware. The lunch was buffet style and full of farm fresh veggies and local meats prepared in a variety of ways – grilled, roasted, braised and fried.Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (128 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (121 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (113 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (106 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (112 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (105 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (109 of 135)And I couldn’t pass up a dessert….or two:Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (103 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (102 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (117 of 135)Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (118 of 135)I dove into the pot de creme before I took my photo. I seriously need to work on my self control. I did, however, capture a photo of my favorite way to end a meal…coffee. yay!Arizona_Farm Lunch_Jelly Toast_Emily Caruso (115 of 135)
